This Privacy Policy explains how Bites Labs Inc. ("Bites," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information when you interact with our websites, mobile applications, and streaming services (collectively, "Services"). By using the Services you consent to the practices described in this policy.
We collect the following categories of personal information: Direct identifiers: name, email address, phone number, organization, billing contact details. Account data: usernames, passwords, preferences, access roles, and purchase history. Usage data: device type, operating system, IP address, session duration, stream interactions, referrers, and crash logs. Content data: live or recorded audiovisual content, chat logs, polls, and metadata captured during broadcasts. Payment data: limited to transaction identifiers and status. Full payment details are processed by integrated payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Apple, Google) and never stored by Bites. Third-party data: information from partners who provide audience insights, anti-fraud checks, or social authentication.
We use personal information to: 7fDeliver and improve the Services, including hosting streams, personalizing experiences, and enabling support. 7fProcess payments, subscriptions, ticketing, and digital goods transactions. 7fEnsure the safety, security, and integrity of the Platform, including detecting abuse and enforcing policies. 7fCommunicate with you about product updates, transactional notices, and marketing offers (where permitted by law). 7fComply with legal obligations, industry standards, and applicable app store requirements.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases: (i) performance of a contract when providing the Services; (ii) legitimate interests such as securing the Platform; (iii) compliance with legal obligations; and (iv) consent for marketing communications or certain data transfers.
We may share personal information with: 7fService providers that assist with hosting, cloud storage, analytics, email delivery, customer support, and security. 7fPayment processors responsible for completing financial transactions. 7fBusiness partners such as venues, labels, leagues, or creators when the Service is deployed jointly for an event and you have registered interest. 7fAuthorities or regulators when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property. 7fSuccessors in interest in connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales.
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Broadcast recordings, analytics, and logs may be stored for up to 24 months unless otherwise contractually agreed.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information. You can exercise these rights by contacting privacy@bitesapp.xyz. We will respond within 30 days or as required by law. You may opt out of marketing communications by using the unsubscribe link or adjusting your account preferences.
We operate globally and may transfer personal information to the United States and other jurisdictions that may not have identical data protection laws. We rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure adequate protection of your data.
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including end-to-end encryption for live ingestion, role-based access controls, and routine penetration testing. However, no system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Services are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it.
When distributing mobile applications via Apple App Store or Google Play, Bites complies with in-app disclosure and permission requirements. We only request device permissions necessary to deliver core functionality (camera, microphone, storage, notifications) and do not sell personal data.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law or our practices. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-product notice at least seven (7) days before the effective date.
